Was asked the other day if I could clean a neighbour’s GFs car (VW Polo TDi). I had to refuse as I pointed out it was 6:40pm and it was dark outside and I’d at least need some light to clean it.

Arranged for them to bring it back today at 2pm. They turned up at nearly 4pm so didn’t have much time to attack the car.

Started with vacuuming the car, wiping down the plastics, scrubbing and wet vacuuming the seats down.

Then wheel cleaner and snow foaming the car, attacked the creases and panel gaps with some degreaser and rinsed.

Degreased the engine bay and door shuts, rinsed engine bay and pressure washed the door shuts.

De-tarred the car and wiped down, deironised with fallout remover, rinsed and then shampood.

Protected the wheels and body with pressurised water activated Gyeon Wetcoat and dried.

Tyres dressed and glass and interior plastics treated.

ALL done in two doors. Pretty pleased with myself. The neighbour and GF were pleased which always makes it worth it.

I feel like a Polo GTI would be right up my alley if they sold them here.

What are your thoughts on the Polo GTI as well as the Polo in general? Seeing as how I’ve never been within 500 miles of one, I’ll trust another Opponaut’s opinion.

Also great job! The car looks like new!!

I don’t know much on the Polo really.

The Polo isn’t much smaller than a Golf these days compared to how they used to be. I think if you had a Polo GTi you will always be wishing you bought a Golf.

The Polo in general is a great, solid and reliable little car.

I can see it selling well in the U.S. as an entry level in the VAG group.
